Why do we need your help?

Your support means that the Trust can look to the future of the buildings in its care and plan essential preventative repair and restoration work. Here are our priorities for 2019/20 and where your donations will be making a difference. Without this critical work, The Folly and our Museum Collections and Archives remain vulnerable to irreparable damage.

THE FOLLY (Grade 1 listed, 17th century house)

Essential repairs to the roof of the North Range, preventing water ingress and potentially serious damage to the roof support timbers

Estimated Cost c£30,000

Essential treatment of pests in the historic timbers within the roof space, preventing irreversible damage to the building and our museum collection

Estimated Cost c£1,000

Repairs to the historic sewage and waste water pipes. Replacing a complex system of drainage pipes, which are now no longer fit for purpose

Estimated Cost c£7,000

Relocation of our Museum Collection and Archives from our former Chapel Street offices to purpose-built storage at The Folly, including the installation of museum-grade equipment and environmental controls

Estimated Cost c£30,000
